The Human behind the hr

Not your typical HR whisperer.
Definitely not your vibe-only LinkedIn coach.
More like: the unfiltered bestie you wish your career had sooner.

The Backstory (Messy. Intentional. Worth It.)

I started in electronics engineering — because society, you know? But somewhere between resistors and regrets, I realized I cared way more about why people quit their jobs than why circuits short out.

So I pivoted hard – into HR. Into startups. Into the messy middle of people, politics, pay bands, and panic.

In the last 6 years, I’ve been everything from:

  • The calm in a layoff storm

  • The strategist behind performance rewrites

  • The accidental therapist in exit interviews

  • The one who told founders, “Bro, that’s not a culture. That’s chaos.”

I’ve sat in rooms where:

  • Leadership wanted to “cut costs” but didn’t realize humans weren’t numbers

  • Founders confused “fun” with “free pizza and burnout”

  • People cried, cheered, negotiated, quit, returned, and stayed quiet when they shouldn’t have.

And I loved every damn second of it.

What I Do Now (No, I’m not selling you a service)

I write. I rant. I reflect.
On this blog, I unpack all the things I wish someone had told me at 22, 27, and yesterday.

I write for:

  • The HR girl who’s stuck in a compliance loop but dreams of strategy

  • The startup lead trying to “build culture” but Googling what that means

  • The mid-career woman trying to get unstuck from expectations, labels, and bad bosses

  • Anyone who’s ever whispered “this can’t be it” after a Zoom call

You’ll find stories, strategies, spicy takes, and a few awkward HR confessions. No fluff. No jargon. Just honest stuff that makes work feel less… soul-sucking.

🙃 Now, for the Good Stuff!

💬 Personal Tidbits (a.k.a. Things HR shouldn’t say… but I do)

  • My toxic trait is rewriting JD lines while watching K‑dramas.

  • I’m a chai maximalist. Green tea is betrayal.

  • I use “let’s sync up” in emails, but deep down, I just want peace and quiet.

  • I once handled layoffs while on my period. With grace. And rage.

  • If “HR software” gives me a loading spinner, I quit emotionally.

  • I collect quirky quotes from exit interviews. (Some are tattoo-worthy.)

  • I treat LinkedIn like Twitter. Sue me.

  • My playlist swings from Coke Studio to Kendrick to Quran recitations depending on the day (or damage).

  • I don’t just believe in second chances. I build systems that allow them.

This blog isn’t a funnel.
It’s a safe space.
A side-eye to hustle culture.
A big fat yes to boundaries.
A little HR therapy.
And a whole lot of honesty.

Stick around if you want career truths, real talk, and the occasional HR meme.
Because work isn’t just work — it’s your life. Let’s not half-ass it.
